The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Pre Prep Teacher to join our Year 1 team on a part-time basis for a maternity cover position starting in September 2026. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners and contribute to a supportive, inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Key Stage 1 lessons in phonics, early reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Create a stimulating, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student wellbeing and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other school staff to ensure the best outcomes for all pupils.
  • Demonstrate high expectations for both academic attainment and student behaviour.
  • Contribute to the broader life of the school, including extra-curricular activities and community engagement.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Support the development of students' confidence, independence, and social skills.
  • Stay up to date with curriculum developments and best practices in early years education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Key Stage 1 education.
  • Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and early years pedagogy.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
  • Strong safeguarding awareness and a commitment to child protection.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with phonics-based teaching methods.
  • Evidence of involvement in extra-curricular activities or school events.
  • Passion for teaching and a genuine interest in the development of young children.
  • Experience in a similar school setting or within a Bishopsgate education environment.
