The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a dynamic, progressive Drama curriculum that fosters creativity and critical thinking
  • Take a leading role in the planning, direction, and execution of school-wide performances and productions
  • Expand and enhance the performance programme, including House plays and year group productions
  • Identify and nurture talented pupils, preparing them for drama scholarships and advanced opportunities
  • Arrange and lead theatre visits and cultural experiences to broaden students’ understanding of the performing arts
  • Support and mentor students in public speaking, performance, and personal development
  • Contribute to the long-term strategic development of the Drama department
  • Uphold and promote the school’s commitment to safeguarding and student well-being

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Drama education
  • Proven ability to direct and lead productions or large-scale performances
  • Strong curriculum development and teaching experience
  • Passion for theatre and performance
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum innovation and creative teaching methods
  • Background in working with students of diverse abilities and backgrounds
  • Experience with drama scholarship programmes or student performance development
  • Knowledge of professional theatre and performance practices
