The Opportunity:
As a Drama Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a dynamic and innovative drama curriculum that inspires students and elevates performance across the school. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a dynamic, progressive Drama curriculum that fosters creativity and critical thinking
- Take a leading role in the planning, direction, and execution of school-wide performances and productions
- Expand and enhance the performance programme, including House plays and year group productions
- Identify and nurture talented pupils, preparing them for drama scholarships and advanced opportunities
- Arrange and lead theatre visits and cultural experiences to broaden students’ understanding of the performing arts
- Support and mentor students in public speaking, performance, and personal development
- Contribute to the long-term strategic development of the Drama department
- Uphold and promote the school’s commitment to safeguarding and student well-being
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Drama education
- Proven ability to direct and lead productions or large-scale performances
- Strong curriculum development and teaching experience
- Passion for theatre and performance
- Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum innovation and creative teaching methods
- Background in working with students of diverse abilities and backgrounds
- Experience with drama scholarship programmes or student performance development
- Knowledge of professional theatre and performance practices
