The Opportunity:

A part-time Music Teacher is needed to deliver an inspiring and challenging curriculum that nurtures musical talent and creativity in girls aged 4 to 11. The role involves teaching across multiple year groups and contributing to the school’s vibrant musical community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons tailored to the needs of pupils across all year groups.
• Facilitate singing, instrumental work, composition, and performance as part of the curriculum.
• Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate records in accordance with school policies.
• Encourage confidence, teamwork, and creative skills in pupils through Music.
• Continuously evaluate and improve teaching practice to ensure it is innovative and effective.
• Contribute to extracurricular activities such as choir rehearsals, ensembles, and performances.
• Stay up to date with developments in Music education and best teaching practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Honours degree in Music or a closely related field.
• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Music to primary age students.
• Evidence of strong pupil progress and high-quality Music teaching.
• Confident pianist with the ability to accompany performances and ABRSM exams.
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
• Competent use of ICT in Music teaching.

Preferred

• Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
• Experience in curriculum development or leadership in Music education.
• Demonstrated ability to use varied teaching strategies to engage young learners.
