The Opportunity:
As a Percussion Teacher, you will play a key role in developing the musical skills of children aged 7-11. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a school that values creativity, engagement, and high-quality teaching. Key Responsibilities:
- Teach weekly lessons of 30 minutes to students aged 7-11, following a timetable aligned with school guidelines.
- Deliver engaging and interactive percussion and drum kit lessons tailored to the needs of young learners.
- Develop and grow ensembles based on the interests and skills of the appointee.
- Collaborate with the Director of Music and other visiting teachers to support the school’s music program.
- Maintain a high standard of teaching and ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Keep detailed records of student progress and lesson planning.
- Participate in school events and performances as required.
- Ensure all safeguarding and child protection policies are followed at all times.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Excellent teaching skills with a strong background in percussion and drum kit.
- Experience working with children aged 7-11, ideally with beginners.
- Strong musical ability and performance experience.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Right to work in the UK.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and leading ensembles or groups.
- Familiarity with teaching in a school setting, particularly in a Prep School.
- Experience with curriculum planning and delivery.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and the ability to work on a self-employed, term-time only basis.
