A school is seeking a passionate and talented Part-Time Music Teacher to cover maternity leave from September 2026. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and supportive learning environment, with a focus on nurturing young musicians through singing and an additional instrument.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach singing and a second musical instrument to students across a range of ages.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging music lessons that inspire creativity and technical skill.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to integrate music into the broader curriculum.
  • Support students in developing confidence and performance skills.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Prepare and assess students’ progress in line with the school's academic standards.
  • Participate in school events and extracurricular music activities.
  • Stay up to date with current teaching practices and music pedagogy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified music teacher with relevant experience in teaching children.
  • Strong practical ability in singing and a second musical instrument.
  • Experience working in a school setting, ideally in a UK prep school.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s mission and values.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching girls in a Catholic educational environment.
