The Opportunity:
As a Music Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring students across all key stages and fostering a passion for music. You will help develop a dynamic curriculum that encourages participation in performance, production, and theatre, while contributing to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a high-quality, inclusive music curriculum across all key stages.
- Manage and motivate students with a focus on behaviour, attainment, and personal development.
- Lead and participate in musical performances, productions, and theatre activities.
- Support the school’s commitment to inclusion and diversity in all aspects of teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the music department and student outcomes.
- Provide instrumental and theoretical instruction, including accompaniment where required.
- Engage in professional development and contribute to the school’s culture of continuous improvement.
- Monitor and assess student progress to ensure ambitious outcomes are met.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Music.
- Experience teaching pupils across all key stages and abilities.
- Strong ability to manage behaviour and motivate students.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to inclusion, diversity, and challenging existing systems for improvement.
Preferred
- Experience in musical theatre or performance.
- Involvement in previous musical productions or performances.
- Wide range of musical instrument expertise and accompaniment skills.
