The Opportunity:
As a Music Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality music education to students across key stages 3 and 4. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programme and potentially teach A-level music. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced and new teachers to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and successful department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective music lessons to students across key stages 3 and 4.
- Contribute to the development and management of the school’s extra-curricular music programme.
- Support the delivery of A-level music for candidates with the appropriate experience and qualifications.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain and enhance the strong academic and cultural reputation of the music department.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as required.
- Participate in departmental meetings, planning, and professional development activities.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student creativity and achievement.
- Monitor and assess student progress and attainment in line with school standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in music education.
- Ability to teach music across key stages 3 and 4.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and personal development.
- Experience working in a school setting, either as a teacher or teaching assistant.
Preferred
- Experience in delivering A-level music.
- Involvement in extra-curricular music activities such as choirs, ensembles, or bands.
- Knowledge of music technology and digital resources.
- Experience in a Church of England or faith-based school setting.
