The Opportunity:

As a Music Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality music education to students across key stages 3 and 4. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programme and potentially teach A-level music. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced and new teachers to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and successful department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective music lessons to students across key stages 3 and 4.
  • Contribute to the development and management of the school’s extra-curricular music programme.
  • Support the delivery of A-level music for candidates with the appropriate experience and qualifications.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain and enhance the strong academic and cultural reputation of the music department.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as required.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, planning, and professional development activities.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student creativity and achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress and attainment in line with school standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in music education.
  • Ability to teach music across key stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and personal development.
  • Experience working in a school setting, either as a teacher or teaching assistant.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering A-level music.
  • Involvement in extra-curricular music activities such as choirs, ensembles, or bands.
  • Knowledge of music technology and digital resources.
  • Experience in a Church of England or faith-based school setting.
