The Opportunity:

As a Music Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the musical journey of students across all key stages, supporting their development in performance, production, and appreciation of music.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality music lessons that engage and challenge students at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Plan and resource lessons that ensure real learning and measurable progress for all pupils.
  • Support the Head of Music in organizing and delivering musical performances and productions throughout the academic year.
  • Work collaboratively with the music team to develop a curriculum that fosters a love of music and instrument playing.
  • Provide regular feedback to music tutors to enhance teaching practice and student achievement.
  • Oversee termly assessments and ensure pupils meet their learning targets.
  • Create an inspiring and motivating environment in music practice rooms that reflect student progress.
  • Ensure all pupils and apprentices achieve their academic and performance goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience teaching Music at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and challenge students of all abilities.
  • Strong curriculum planning and delivery skills with a focus on student progress.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos of high expectations and inclusive education.

Preferred

  • Experience with musical production, performance, and theatre.
  • Background in curriculum development and assessment.
  • Experience in leading or supporting performance opportunities for students.
  • Familiarity with using data to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
