The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and inspiring Music Teacher to join our department on a maternity cover basis, starting in November (or September for the right candidate). This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of students at all levels, including A Level. Ideal for Early Career Teachers, this role offers strong support and progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality music lessons across key stages, including A Level.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential in music.
  • Develop and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the wider school community and curriculum.
  • Participate in extracurricular music activities and events.
  • Support the school’s ethos and values, including a commitment to community and inclusion.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of the music curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in music education.
  • Strong knowledge of music theory and practical performance.
  • Experience teaching at Key Stage 3, 4, and 5.
  • Commitment to working within a Catholic ethos and inclusive community.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with A Level music teaching.
  • Early Career Teacher (ECT) with an interest in professional development.
  • Experience in leading or supporting extracurricular music groups.
  • Familiarity with the Early Careers Framework.
