Teacher of Music required for a one-year fixed-term maternity cover at a leading independent school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality music education across all key stages, inspiring and engaging students.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic and innovative music curriculum.
  • Lead and mentor students in instrumental and vocal performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the school’s broader arts and cultural initiatives.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, including ensembles, productions, and events.
  • Support the development of students’ musical talents and prepare them for public performances.
  • Maintain accurate records and assess student progress effectively.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through professional and collaborative working.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in music education.
  • Strong musical ability and performance experience.
  • Proven ability to inspire and engage students in a classroom setting.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a music department or working towards a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of music technology and digital resources.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
  • Familiarity with teaching in a co-educational or girls-only setting.
