The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and committed Music Teacher to join its thriving Music Department. This role offers the chance to inspire pupils, teach Music Technology at A Level and Music at Key Stage 3, and contribute to a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and manage pupil learning in accordance with the department’s schemes of work.
  • Inspire pupils through engaging lessons that encourage independent learning and achievement.
  • Direct ensembles and support the department’s extracurricular programme.
  • Set high expectations for behaviour and academic progress.
  • Assess and monitor pupil work systematically, providing accurate reporting to parents.
  • Collaborate with SEN and support staff to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Lead and support school music events, including concerts and competitions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good honours degree in a relevant subject and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Strong knowledge of Music Technology (A Level) and Music teaching at KS3.
  • The ability to teach GCSE and A Level Music.

Preferred

  • Experience in ensemble conducting and piano performance skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan creatively and effectively.
  • The ability to engage and motivate pupils of all abilities.
  • Commitment to high-quality teaching, ongoing professional development, and safeguarding practices.
  • Empathy with the Christian ethos of the school.
