The Opportunity:

As a Safeguarding and Inclusion Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, support, and inclusion of all students and their families. This role is at the heart of the school’s commitment to wellbeing, offering the chance to lead and shape a culture of care, support, and inclusion across the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and strengthen safeguarding, inclusion, and wellbeing practices across the school.
  • Provide confident, empathetic, and strategic leadership around inclusion and wellbeing.
  • Advocate for children and ensure that all students receive the support they need to thrive.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate with staff, families, and external partners to support students’ emotional and social development.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safeguarding and inclusion initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and child protection legislation.
  • Support staff in understanding and responding to safeguarding concerns.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in safeguarding, social care, or direct work with children and families.
  • Strong knowledge of inclusion, wellbeing, and pastoral care in an educational setting.
  • Experience in providing strategic leadership and support to students and staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or education-based pastoral care setting.
  • Experience with local authority services, early help, or family support.
  • Knowledge of child protection legislation and best practices.
  • Experience in developing and implementing inclusion strategies.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and backgrounds.
