The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join their team on a part-time or job-share basis. This role offers the chance to inspire students through high-quality music education and lead dynamic performance and extra-curricular programs. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take on a Lead Teacher role with additional responsibilities and leadership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality music lessons that inspire creativity and confidence in students.
  • Develop and implement imaginative and engaging schemes of work aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Coordinate and lead school music performances and events.
  • Contribute to an inclusive and dynamic extra-curricular music program.
  • Work collaboratively with job-share partners to ensure seamless provision across the week.
  • Support and mentor colleagues as a Lead Teacher, if applicable.
  • Manage the development of musical provision beyond classroom teaching.
  • Maintain consistent communication and collaboration with colleagues.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in music education.
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum for music.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to raising attainment through engaging and imaginative teaching.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and maintain high professional standards.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or coordinating school music performances.
  • Experience in extra-curricular music programs.
  • Leadership experience or interest in taking on a Lead Teacher role.
  • Experience with curriculum development and strategic planning in music education.
