The Opportunity:

A Music Teacher with Games Specialism is needed to inspire and engage students in a vibrant Performing Arts department. This role involves shaping a dynamic curriculum that integrates Music and Games, encouraging creativity, performance, and cross-curricular learning. The successful candidate will bring enthusiasm and expertise to both classroom and co-curricular activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality music education with a specialism in Games.
  • Lead and manage a vibrant co-curricular music programme, including choirs, orchestra, and ensembles.
  • Provide advanced piano/keyboard accompaniment for rehearsals, performances, and productions.
  • Collaborate with Drama and other departments to create cross-curricular learning opportunities.
  • Inspire students to achieve their potential and nurture those with aspirations in Music and Games.
  • Support the school’s mission to develop well-rounded, confident, and responsible individuals.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture aligned with the school’s values and ethos.
  • Engage in whole-school initiatives that encourage students to be Change Makers.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Music education.
  • Strong knowledge and practical skills in music performance and teaching.
  • Experience or interest in integrating Games into educational settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading co-curricular music programmes.
  • Advanced piano or keyboard playing ability.
  • Experience with cross-curricular teaching and collaboration.
  • Background in developing creative and performance-based learning opportunities.
  • Familiarity with the use of technology in music and games education.
