The Opportunity:

As a Music Technical Manager, you will provide essential support to the music department, ensuring the smooth running of curricular and co-curricular activities. This role involves assisting with rehearsals, concerts, and music exams, while also managing the music library and supporting practical music education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the setup and packing down of rehearsals and performances.
  • Liaise with school caretakers to ensure venues are prepared for events.
  • Support the running of practical music exams held on three Saturdays per year.
  • Maintain and manage the music library, including acting as music librarian for major school concerts.
  • Provide administrative and technical support to the music department.
  • Assist with the coordination of co-curricular music activities.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and stored.
  • Support music staff with day-to-day operational needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a technical or administrative role within an educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with music equipment and performance logistics.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a school or music-related environment.
  • Knowledge of music library systems and management.
  • Experience with event coordination or stage management.
  • Understanding of curriculum and co-curricular music activities.
