The Opportunity:

As a Numeracy and Literacy Intervention Lead, you will play a key role in supporting students with special educational needs. This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact through targeted interventions, collaboration with staff, and the development of functional skills in numeracy and literacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and adapt numeracy and literacy interventions tailored to students with special educational needs.
  • Support and promote independent learning and inclusion across various learning environments.
  • Collaborate with the Support Centre Manager, SENCO, and teaching staff to develop and implement effective student support plans.
  • Provide regular feedback on student progress and contribute to the development of individual learning outcomes.
  • Create and prepare intervention materials and resources that align with student needs and goals.
  • Work closely with external specialist agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Engage in meetings and planning sessions to ensure alignment with the school’s educational objectives.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student growth and achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of numeracy and literacy development, particularly in functional and life-skill based contexts.
  • Ability to create and organise intervention resources and materials.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to inclusion and student success.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or supporting students in a school or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with SENCO processes and support structures.
  • Experience with curriculum planning and delivery for students with diverse needs.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and practices.
