The Opportunity:
As a Physical Education Teacher, you will inspire and lead students in developing essential life skills through physical education. This role offers the chance to shape young minds and contribute to a school culture that values academic and pastoral success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality PE lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
- Lead and support a team of PE staff, ensuring consistent teaching and learning across the department.
- Plan and design schemes of work that promote student engagement and progression.
- Monitor and assess student performance, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate PE with other subjects and school-wide initiatives.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and personal development.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in physical education.
- Participate in staff development and training programs to enhance teaching practice.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven experience teaching PE at Key Stages 3 and 4
- Strong subject knowledge in physical education
- Experience in curriculum planning and scheme of work development
- Leadership experience in a school or educational setting
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership role within a PE department
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and student welfare
