The Opportunity:

As an Outreach Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils and schools across the borough. Your work will focus on behaviour management, classroom support, and professional development, helping to remove barriers to learning and improve outcomes for students with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs in a range of settings
  • Provide guidance and training to school staff on behaviour management and classroom strategies
  • Deliver INSET training and support NQTs with classroom practice
  • Assist in the development and implementation of behaviour policies and learning strategies
  • Work closely with schools to address challenging behaviour and improve learning environments
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent and effective support for pupils and staff
  • Participate in professional development and training to enhance your skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to the delivery of Restraint/Handling training and other essential support programs

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A full and clean driving licence and access to a car
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Experience working with children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Preferred

  • Experience in special educational needs (SEN) or special educational needs and disabilities (SEBD) settings
  • Knowledge of attachment and trauma-informed practices
  • Experience in behaviour management and classroom support
  • Experience with INSET training or NQT support
  • Background in teaching or education support
