The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons for KS3 and KS4 Biology.
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the diverse needs of all students.
  • Monitor and report on student performance through assessments and parent meetings.
  • Contribute to Life Skills, PSHE, and Enrichment programmes.
  • Maintain a safe and productive classroom environment.
  • Support Teaching Assistants in delivering learning objectives.
  • Stay updated on Science education developments and contribute to curriculum design.
  • Provide pastoral support and act as a form tutor if required.
  • Promote STEM careers through events and educational activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science, particularly Biology.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
  • Willingness to complete Enhanced DBS checks and Child Protection Training.

Preferred

  • Experience with students with complex needs, such as ADHD or dyslexia.
  • Experience in curriculum development or subject leadership.
  • Previous involvement in extra-curricular or STEM-related activities.
