The Opportunity:
As an Outreach Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex needs across the borough. You will work closely with schools to address behaviour challenges and provide targeted support that helps pupils thrive in their learning environments. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs across multiple schools.
- Deliver targeted interventions to help pupils manage their behaviour and improve learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement effective behaviour management strategies.
- Provide guidance and training to teachers on behaviour support and classroom management.
- Conduct assessments and contribute to the development of individual education plans.
- Attend and support INSET sessions and staff training events.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and interventions.
- Work closely with families and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to pupil support.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A full and clean UK driving licence and access to a car.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Experience working with children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in behaviour management and support strategies.
- Knowledge of attachment and trauma-informed practices.
- Previous experience in educational support or teaching assistant roles.
- Familiarity with SEN and special educational needs frameworks.
- Confidence in delivering training and support to school staff.
