The Opportunity:
As a Part-Time Head of PE, you will lead the PE department and inspire students through engaging lessons and innovative teaching. This role is integral to promoting physical activity and a healthy lifestyle across all key stages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the PE department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that supports student progress and engagement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas and resources across the Expressive Arts Faculty.
- Monitor and use formative and summative data to improve student outcomes.
- Promote a positive and inclusive school culture aligned with the school’s growth mindset ethos.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for students, especially in student changing rooms.
- Support the school’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of PE delivery.
- Encourage and lead staff development and professional growth within the department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in teaching PE up to Key Stage 5.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver inspiring and engaging lessons.
- Commitment to collaborative working and sharing best practice.
- Strong understanding of growth mindset and its application in teaching.
- Experience in managing a department and leading a team.
Preferred
- Experience in leadership or senior management roles within a school setting.
- Familiarity with Disruption Free Learning strategies.
- Knowledge of innovative teaching methods and technologies in PE.
- Experience with safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
