The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Product Design Teacher or Head of Product Design to join our highly regarded Design and Technology Faculty. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of design education and inspire the next generation of creators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A-level Product Design lessons.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share high-quality teaching resources.
  • Use formative and summative data to improve student learning outcomes.
  • Support the school’s commitment to a growth mindset and Disruption Free Learning.
  • Lead and mentor trainee teachers as part of a well-established ECT programme.
  • Manage and maintain dedicated workshops and facilities for students.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and incorporate innovative teaching practices.
  • Contribute to the school’s ethos of pastoral care and student wellbeing.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Product Design and Engineering.
  • Ability to teach across Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A-level.
  • Strong commitment to collaborative working and professional development.
  • Experience in using data to improve learning outcomes.
  • Commitment to the school’s growth mindset philosophy.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team.
  • Background in Disruption Free Learning or similar initiatives.
  • Experience in training and mentoring early career teachers.
  • Knowledge of current design and technology industry practices.
  • Passion for inspiring and supporting student success.
