The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality Music lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Support the development and implementation of a curriculum that reflects best practice in teaching and learning.
  • Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programme, including music-related activities and events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and innovate in teaching methods.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and support the school’s commitment to a well-managed learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to departmental meetings and planning.
  • Ensure that students are encouraged to reach their full potential through a stimulating and inclusive learning experience.
  • Support the school’s mission and values, including a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Music education.
  • Ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum design and effective teaching strategies.
  • Commitment to student progress and a positive learning environment.
  • Experience in supporting extra-curricular activities.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language or working with diverse student populations.
  • Familiarity with cognitive science and its application in teaching.
  • Experience in a school with a strong focus on professional development and innovation.
