The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Music Teacher - Key Stage 3 to join a thriving and well-established department. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver high-quality lessons and support the school’s extensive extra-curricular programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality music lessons to Key Stage 3 students (Years 7 to 9)
  • Organise and lead performances, ensembles, and musical events
  • Conduct and lead choirs with confidence and expertise
  • Utilise music technology and digital resources effectively in teaching
  • Support the department’s extra-curricular programme and pastoral activities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and enhance the school’s music curriculum
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Maintain and develop strong organisational and time management skills

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant degree in music or a related field
  • Proven ability to teach music at Key Stage 3
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for music education
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Confidence in using piano/keyboard and vocal abilities
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage and engage students effectively

Preferred

  • Experience with music technology and software such as Sibelius, Logic Pro X, and Garageband
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience in leading and conducting choirs
  • Experience in the use of ICT within the music curriculum
  • Experience in a school or educational setting
