The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Music Teacher - Key Stage 3 to join a thriving and well-established department. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver high-quality lessons and support the school’s extensive extra-curricular programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, high-quality music lessons to Key Stage 3 students (Years 7 to 9)
- Organise and lead performances, ensembles, and musical events
- Conduct and lead choirs with confidence and expertise
- Utilise music technology and digital resources effectively in teaching
- Support the department’s extra-curricular programme and pastoral activities
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and enhance the school’s music curriculum
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues
- Maintain and develop strong organisational and time management skills
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant degree in music or a related field
- Proven ability to teach music at Key Stage 3
- Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for music education
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Confidence in using piano/keyboard and vocal abilities
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to manage and engage students effectively
Preferred
- Experience with music technology and software such as Sibelius, Logic Pro X, and Garageband
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Experience in leading and conducting choirs
- Experience in the use of ICT within the music curriculum
- Experience in a school or educational setting
