The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Part-Time PE Teacher (Maternity Cover) to join our team and contribute to the physical and personal development of students aged 4–11. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about promoting healthy lifestyles, teamwork, and lifelong learning through sport and games.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality PE and Games lessons that inspire and engage students.
- Develop and implement inclusive, challenging, and fun sporting activities that promote physical and social development.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the school’s mission and values.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment that encourages participation and respect.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of co-curricular sporting events and activities.
- Support the school’s commitment to pastoral care and student wellbeing.
- Stay up to date with best practices in PE and Games education.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in PE and Games.
- Strong knowledge of child development and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching students aged 4–11.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies in PE.
- Experience with outdoor education or competitive sport.
- Passion for promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
- Previous experience in a school setting with a strong co-curricular programme.
