The Opportunity:
As a Pastoral and Safeguarding Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the emotional, social, and academic wellbeing of students. This is a key position that supports the school’s commitment to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of the school’s wellbeing and safeguarding policies.
- Provide pastoral care and guidance to students, ensuring their emotional and social needs are met.
- Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to safeguard students and promote their welfare.
- Monitor and report on student wellbeing, identifying and addressing concerns promptly.
- Deliver safeguarding training and awareness sessions to staff and students.
- Assist in the development and review of safeguarding procedures and policies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all pastoral and safeguarding-related activities.
- Promote a culture of respect, inclusion, and support across the school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a pastoral or safeguarding role within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Relevant qualifications in education or social care.
Preferred
- Experience working in a school with a strong wellbeing and pastoral care focus.
- Knowledge of digital tools and technologies used in education and safeguarding.
- Experience in delivering training or workshops related to safeguarding and wellbeing.
- Familiarity with EdTech initiatives and innovative approaches to student support.
