Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective English lessons that meet the needs of all students
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that promotes academic excellence and student engagement
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly to ensure continuous improvement
  • Support students in developing their literacy, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance teaching and learning
  • Participate in department meetings and contribute to the overall success of the English Department
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and wellbeing
  • Stay up to date with current educational trends and incorporate innovative teaching methods

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education
  • Strong subject knowledge in English and a commitment to student success
  • Experience in delivering high-quality lessons and effective classroom management
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a supportive school culture

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching at a high-performing school or academy
  • Experience with inclusive education and differentiated instruction
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement initiatives
  • Experience with pastoral care and student wellbeing support
