The Opportunity:

The Pastoral Coordinator will provide essential pastoral support to students, helping them build resilience, self-esteem, and aspirations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and guide students across a year group, ensuring their emotional and academic needs are met.
  • Collaborate with the existing Pastoral team to deliver consistent and effective support strategies.
  • Act as a positive role model, motivating students and helping them believe in their potential.
  • Develop and implement programs that promote student well-being, resilience, and self-esteem.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and other staff to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Monitor and support student behavior, ensuring it aligns with the school’s values and expectations.
  • Contribute to the development of pastoral policies and procedures that enhance student outcomes.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on the well-being and progress of students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing pastoral support to young people in an educational setting.
  • Emotional intelligence and the ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • A relevant qualification in education, social work, or a related field.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in working within a school or educational trust environment.
  • Knowledge of student welfare frameworks and support strategies.
  • Experience in developing and delivering pastoral programs or interventions.
  • Experience with safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
