The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Science Teacher to join a high-performing department that consistently delivers outstanding results. This role offers the chance to inspire students, contribute to a collaborative team, and further raise academic achievement in Science across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality Science lessons that promote student achievement and interest in the subject.
  • Develop and implement a well-structured curriculum that supports student progress and meets high standards.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and continuously improve teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support to ensure all learners achieve their full potential.
  • Encourage a love of Science through practical, interactive, and innovative teaching methods.
  • Support the school’s commitment to inclusion and continuous improvement in all aspects of teaching and learning.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, planning, and professional development activities.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and student engagement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Science education.
  • Strong track record in delivering high-quality lessons and achieving excellent student outcomes.
  • Experience of teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to inclusive practice and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience of working within a collaborative and supportive department.
  • Knowledge of current Science curriculum and assessment practices.
  • Experience with leadership or mentoring roles within a school setting.
  • Familiarity with the Northern Education Trust values and approach to education.
