The Opportunity:

We are seeking an inspiring Pastoral Lead to support pupils’ emotional and behavioural wellbeing across the school. This role is central to fostering a positive, inclusive culture and ensuring every child feels safe, valued, and supported to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage pastoral care, behaviour support, and attendance strategies across the school.
  • Develop and implement early intervention strategies to support pupils with social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
  • Collaborate with pupils, families, staff, and external agencies to create a supportive environment for student success.
  • Promote a school culture that prioritises inclusion, safety, and high expectations for all students.
  • Contribute to safeguarding and inclusion initiatives across all key stages.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff in managing student behaviour and wellbeing.
  • Engage with parents and carers to address barriers to learning and improve student outcomes.
  • Support the school’s vision of character development through pastoral programmes and initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Significant experience working with children in an educational or pastoral setting.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management and child development.
  • Confident, empathetic, and solution-focused approach to supporting student wellbeing.
  • Ability to engage effectively with pupils, parents, and carers.
  • High expectations for all students and a commitment to inclusion.
  • Excellent organisational skills, resilience, and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school environment with a focus on pastoral care.
  • Experience with safeguarding and inclusion strategies.
  • Familiarity with working in a multi-ethnic, diverse community.
  • Experience with pastoral leadership in an all-through school setting.
