The Opportunity:

As a Pastoral Leader, you will play a vital role in overseeing the pastoral care of a Year group, ensuring the well-being and development of students across academic, spiritual, moral, physical, and social aspects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the pastoral care and well-being of a Year group, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Work closely with a Senior Leader and Learning Mentor to manage and develop pastoral strategies.
  • Support students in their academic, spiritual, moral, physical, and social development.
  • Foster positive relationships between staff and students, reflecting the school's values.
  • Coordinate with external partners and support networks to enhance pastoral care and student outcomes.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
  • Promote the school’s mission and values through daily interactions and leadership.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of pastoral programs and initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a pastoral or similar role within an educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to the values and mission of a Catholic school.
  • Experience in supporting students with diverse needs, including those with special educational needs.

Preferred

  • Experience in a large secondary school or multi-academy trust.
  • Knowledge of Catholic education and values.
  • Experience in student welfare and pastoral care.
  • Leadership experience within a school setting.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies.
