The Opportunity:
As a Pastoral Leader, you will play a vital role in overseeing the pastoral care of a Year group, ensuring the well-being and development of students across academic, spiritual, moral, physical, and social aspects. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the pastoral care and well-being of a Year group, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Work closely with a Senior Leader and Learning Mentor to manage and develop pastoral strategies.
- Support students in their academic, spiritual, moral, physical, and social development.
- Foster positive relationships between staff and students, reflecting the school's values.
- Coordinate with external partners and support networks to enhance pastoral care and student outcomes.
- Provide guidance and support to students, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
- Promote the school’s mission and values through daily interactions and leadership.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of pastoral programs and initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a pastoral or similar role within an educational setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Commitment to the values and mission of a Catholic school.
- Experience in supporting students with diverse needs, including those with special educational needs.
Preferred
- Experience in a large secondary school or multi-academy trust.
- Knowledge of Catholic education and values.
- Experience in student welfare and pastoral care.
- Leadership experience within a school setting.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies.
