The Opportunity:
As a SEND Administrator, you will provide essential administrative support to the SENDCo and the SEND department, ensuring the smooth running of services for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised, proactive, and committed to making a positive impact on student outcomes and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the SENDCo and SEND team in managing student records, assessments, and interventions.
- Coordinate communication between teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure consistent support for students.
- Organise and manage meetings, reports, and documentation related to SEND provision.
- Monitor and update student progress and needs in line with school policies and legal requirements.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of training and support sessions for staff on SEND-related matters.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with data protection standards.
- Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and other support strategies.
- Contribute to the overall development and improvement of SEND provision within the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in an educational setting, preferably in a SEND role.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience with special educational needs and disabilities frameworks and policies.
- Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
- Experience in a multi-site school environment.
- Experience with data management systems and record-keeping procedures.
