Pastoral Support Mentor needed to support students and enhance wellbeing.

The Opportunity:
As a Pastoral Support Mentor, you will make a meaningful impact on students' lives by providing emotional and academic support. You will work closely with the Pastoral Support Manager and contribute to the development of Personal Education Plans (PEPs), ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students facing barriers to learning through one-to-one and small group mentoring.
- Build strong relationships with carers and external agencies to ensure holistic support for students.
- Coordinate and review Personal Education Plans (PEPs) to monitor student progress and adjust support strategies.
- Promote student engagement, attendance, and wellbeing through targeted interventions.
- Work collaboratively with the Pastoral Support Manager and Designated Teacher for LAC to address student needs.
- Contribute to the development of strategies that improve student behaviour and academic outcomes.
- Participate in training and professional development to enhance pastoral support practices.
- Ensure all actions are aligned with the school’s commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in providing pastoral, emotional, or mentoring support to students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and external agencies.
- Understanding of student wellbeing and behaviour management strategies.
- Experience in working with students who have complex needs or learning barriers.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Preferred
- Experience in educational settings, particularly in a school environment.
- Familiarity with Personal Education Plans (PEPs) and student support processes.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or working with diverse student populations.
- Knowledge of current safeguarding practices and policies.
