The Opportunity:

As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing a variety of home-baked pastry items for students and staff across all meals and break times. You will work as part of a team to ensure the highest standards of food service and contribute to the preparation of food for special events and functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a wide range of pastry items for breakfast, lunch, supper, and break times.
• Source and manage suppliers to ensure a consistent and high-quality supply of ingredients.
• Develop and test new recipes to enhance the menu and dining experience.
• Collaborate with other chefs to ensure smooth and efficient food service operations.
• Assist in the preparation of food for large and small functions and events.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and health and safety regulations.
• Support the team during busy periods and special events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience as a Pastry Chef in a professional kitchen environment.
• Strong knowledge of pastry techniques and food preparation.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
• Valid right to work in the UK.

Preferred

• Experience working in a school or catering environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Experience with menu planning and recipe development.
• Flexibility to work early mornings and occasional evenings or weekends.
