The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate peripatetic guitar teacher to join a dynamic and expanding music department. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a vibrant music programme and support students in achieving their musical potential through individual and group instruction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality peripatetic guitar lessons to students across Years 7–13.
- Support students in preparing for graded exams and diplomas across all exam boards.
- Contribute to the development and expansion of the school’s co-curricular music programme.
- Collaborate with the Head of Music and other instrumental teachers to enhance music provision.
- Participate in school events such as musical theatre productions, concerts, and festivals.
- Maintain a flexible working pattern, including the possibility of additional hours for candidates with a second instrument.
- Provide individualised support and guidance to students in their musical development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a peripatetic guitar teacher.
- Strong musical ability and performance experience.
- Qualified teacher status or equivalent.
- Experience in teaching students across a range of ages and abilities.
- Ability to work flexibly and independently.
Preferred
- Experience with music exam boards and preparation for graded exams.
- Experience in co-curricular music programmes or ensembles.
- Additional instrument proficiency.
- Experience in working within a school environment and with students of all ages.
