The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Peripatetic Music Teacher to deliver high-quality singing lessons to students aged 8–18. This role offers the opportunity to inspire young vocalists and contribute to a thriving musical programme that includes performances at prestigious venues. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students in their musical development and helping them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and creative singing lessons tailored to individual student needs
  • Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and provide regular feedback to students and parents
  • Support students in preparing for performances, examinations, and other musical opportunities
  • Contribute to the school’s vibrant musical life by participating in ensembles, concerts, and events
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s music programme and ensure a consistent approach to teaching and learning
  • Maintain strong communication and positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
  • Adhere to the school’s policies and procedures, including safeguarding and child protection requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good honours degree (performance or teaching preferred)
  • Proven experience in delivering high-quality vocal teaching to a range of ages and abilities
  • Strong communication, organisational, and administrative skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of musical excellence and student development

Preferred

  • Experience in choral music or ensemble work
  • Experience with music examinations or performance preparation
  • Experience working in an independent or school setting
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies
