The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic team as a Teaching Assistant EYFS/KS1 and support young learners in their early years of education. This role plays a vital part in nurturing confidence, independence, and a passion for learning in pupils aged 3 to 7.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils across the EYFS/KS1 curriculum, promoting engagement and independence
  • Assist class teachers with lesson preparation, delivery, and classroom organisation
  • Deliver targeted interventions, including phonics and small group support
  • Observe and record pupil progress, contributing to ongoing assessment
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support pupils’ wellbeing and contribute to strong pastoral care
  • Assist with co-curricular activities, school events, and educational visits
  • Supervise pupils during key points of the school day, including break and lunchtime

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above)
  • Experience working with children in EYFS/KS1
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
  • A proactive and flexible approach with the ability to use initiative

Preferred

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate
  • ELSA training
  • First Aid certification
