Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Politics lessons to students across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student achievement and progression.
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages open discussion, critical thinking, and respect for diverse viewpoints.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the overall success of the school.
  • Stay up to date with political developments and incorporate relevant current events into teaching.
  • Support students in preparing for examinations and assessments.
  • Participate in school events, pastoral care, and other duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Politics or a related subject.
  • Strong knowledge of Politics curriculum and current affairs.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and mission.
  • Experience working with students in a Sixth Form College setting.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering A-Level Politics courses.
  • Familiarity with Catholic values and ethos.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching and pastoral care.
  • Leadership experience or willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
