The Opportunity:
As a Premises Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a secure and well-managed school site. This hands-on position offers the chance to develop expertise in facilities management, health and safety, and statutory compliance. You will support school activities and events, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a secure and well-managed school site in line with the school’s ethos and values.
- Manage day-to-day site operations, including coordinating works and supporting school events.
- Communicate effectively with staff, contractors, and visitors to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and statutory requirements.
- Support the Facilities Manager and Premises Assistant in all site-related tasks.
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of school buildings and grounds.
- Respond promptly to any incidents or emergencies on site.
- Contribute to a positive and welcoming school environment for students and staff.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in facilities management, caretaking, or a related field.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and secure school environment.
- Flexibility to work a varied and sometimes unsociable schedule.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and statutory compliance.
- Experience with facilities management software or systems.
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary of £31,980 per year.
- 36 hours per week with a 30-minute lunch break.
