The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Primary Art Teacher to deliver engaging and creative Art instruction to students from Year 1 to Year 6. This role involves leading curriculum development and contributing to the school’s creative initiatives and Schoolwide Learning Outcomes (SLOs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach engaging and creative Art lessons for Years 1–6, providing differentiated support and challenge.
  • Lead the development and review of the Primary Art curriculum, ensuring alignment with best practice and cross-curricular integration.
  • Collaborate with the Deputy Head of Primary, teachers, and parents to support learning and build positive relationships.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through displays, events, and extracurricular Art activities.
  • Uphold the school’s ethos and expectations, and carry out additional duties as required by school leadership.
  • Monitor student progress through effective assessment and provide feedback to support learning.
  • Integrate Art into IPC units and communicate progress clearly to stakeholders.
  • Promote a vibrant learning environment that encourages creativity and student engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS) and strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for Art & Design.
  • Proven experience delivering high-quality Art instruction to diverse, international cohorts.
  • Experience working with students with English as an Additional Language.
  • A passionate, reflective, and well-organised practitioner who can lead subject development and champion inclusive practice.

Preferred

  • Experience with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in extracurricular Art activities and community engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and integrate Art into cross-curricular projects.
