The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and qualified Primary French Teacher to join its dynamic team. This role will involve delivering engaging French lessons that align with the school’s mission and support student success. The successful candidate will contribute to a progressive and inclusive Modern Foreign Languages programme, inspiring a love of language learning in young students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach engaging, well-structured French lessons that inspire enthusiasm for the language and culture, differentiate for student needs, and promote positive behaviour and participation.
• Assess learning regularly, provide meaningful feedback, maintain accurate records, and contribute to the development and continuity of the French curriculum.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, Learning Support, and parents to ensure effective communication, pastoral support, and high-quality teaching across the MFL department.
• Participate in professional development, support school events and cross-curricular activities, and undertake additional responsibilities as required by the Head of Primary or Senior Leadership Team.
• Promote cultural awareness and support students with diverse linguistic backgrounds, including those with English as an Additional Language.
• Use creative, differentiated, and innovative approaches to language learning, including digital tools and extracurricular opportunities.
• Contribute to the development and growth of the Primary French programme within a collaborative and supportive team.
• Ensure lessons align with the school’s ethos, mission, and Schoolwide Learning Outcomes (SLOs).

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A recognised teaching qualification and experience teaching French in Primary.
• Familiarity with the National Curriculum of England (international experience an advantage).
• A passion for the French language and culture, with the ability to inspire progress for learners of all starting points.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to high-quality teaching and cultural diversity.
• A highly organised and inclusive practitioner with the ability to differentiate instruction and manage a classroom effectively.

Preferred

• Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
• Experience with digital tools and extracurricular activities related to language learning.
• Experience in a multicultural and international school setting.
• Demonstrated leadership or team collaboration skills within a school environment.
