The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and qualified Primary French Teacher to join its dynamic team. The role involves delivering engaging French lessons that inspire students and contribute to a progressive Modern Foreign Languages programme. Key Responsibilities:
- Teach engaging, well-structured French lessons that inspire enthusiasm for the language and culture, differentiate for student needs, and promote positive behaviour and participation.
- Assess learning regularly, provide meaningful feedback, maintain accurate records, and contribute to the development and continuity of the French curriculum.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, Learning Support, and parents to ensure effective communication, pastoral support, and high-quality teaching across the MFL department.
- Participate in professional development, support school events and cross-curricular activities, and undertake additional responsibilities as required by the Head of Primary or Senior Leadership Team.
- Promote cultural awareness and contribute to the development of an inclusive and progressive MFL programme.
- Use digital tools and extracurricular opportunities to enhance language learning experiences.
- Support students with a wide range of abilities and linguistic backgrounds, including those with English as an Additional Language.
- Ensure alignment with the school’s ethos, mission, and Schoolwide Learning Outcomes (SLOs).
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A recognised teaching qualification and experience teaching French in Primary.
- Familiarity with the National Curriculum of England (international experience an advantage).
- A passion for the French language and culture, with the ability to inspire progress for learners of all starting points.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to high-quality teaching and cultural diversity.
- A highly organised and inclusive practitioner with experience in differentiated instruction.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Experience in using digital tools to enhance language learning.
- Experience in extracurricular activities related to language learning.
- Experience in working with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
