The Opportunity:

As a Primary Class Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, teaching, and assessing engaging and inclusive lessons that support the holistic development of young learners. This role is ideal for an experienced educator who is passionate about fostering a love of learning, physical activity, and swimming in students of all abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and inclusive lessons that support the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Deliver age-appropriate activities that support motor skill development and introduce young learners to the joy of movement.
  • Teach swimming and ensure pupils develop water confidence, swimming techniques, and water safety.
  • Work closely with colleagues to support school initiatives, including extracurricular activities and inter-school competitions.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate students with English as an additional language and ensure equity and inclusion.
  • Promote a positive, safe, and motivating learning environment that supports student growth and well-being.
  • Support school leadership and contribute to curriculum development and staff training initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate academic standards and student progress in line with agreed school procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • PGCE or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience in a primary school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written.
  • Experience in teaching swimming and promoting water safety.
  • Ability to manage and motivate students effectively.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student well-being.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching English as an additional language.
  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with international education standards and practices.
  • Experience in promoting health, well-being, and lifelong engagement in physical activity.
