As a Rowing Coach, you will play a key role in developing student athletes and supporting a successful rowing programme. Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor students in rowing techniques, safety, and performance.
  • Plan and deliver training sessions that align with the school's sporting and academic calendar.
  • Support the school's rowing programme in competitions, regattas, and head races throughout the year.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students during training and events.
  • Collaborate with other coaches and staff to support the school's co-curricular and sporting goals.
  • Maintain and update training records and student progress.
  • Assist in the organisation and management of rowing fixtures and events.
  • Provide guidance and encouragement to students of all skill levels.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 2 Club Coach qualification or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in coaching rowing at a competitive level.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and school holidays.
  • Commitment to the safety and welfare of students.

Preferred

  • Experience in coaching young athletes or working in a school environment.
  • Knowledge of competitive rowing and event organisation.
  • Experience with a co-educational or boarding school setting.
  • Understanding of the importance of pastoral care and student development.
