Primary Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead – safeguard children and support the DSL.

The Opportunity:
As the Primary Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will play a vital role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. You will support the DSL and ensure that safeguarding policies and procedures are effectively implemented across the school. This is a key position in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in the implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Act as a point of contact for safeguarding concerns and ensure timely referrals to appropriate agencies.
- Contribute to the development and review of safeguarding policies and training programs.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safeguarding practices across the school.
- Provide guidance and support to staff on safeguarding matters.
- Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to safeguarding concerns.
- Promote a culture of vigilance and child protection throughout the school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant experience in a safeguarding or pastoral role within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of child protection policies and procedures.
- Experience in working with children and young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead role.
- Knowledge of statutory safeguarding frameworks and legislation.
- Experience in providing training and support to staff on safeguarding matters.
- Experience in working with children with additional needs.
