The Opportunity:
As a Primary School Dutch Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping young learners’ language skills within the IB Primary Years Programme. You will design and deliver engaging lessons that promote creativity, communication, and cultural awareness, helping students become confident and competent Dutch speakers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a stimulating and comprehensive Dutch language curriculum aligned with the IB PYP standards.
- Create an inclusive and engaging learning environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and communication.
- Teach Dutch language skills, including grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, and speaking.
- Design and administer assessments to evaluate students’ language proficiency and progress.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to help students develop their communication abilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other teachers to integrate Dutch language into cross-curricular initiatives.
- Stay current with educational trends and integrate innovative teaching methodologies into the curriculum.
- Maintain accurate student records and communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant field with teaching certification.
- Proven experience teaching Dutch language to primary-aged students.
- Familiarity with the IB PYP or willingness to learn.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create inclusive and student-centered learning environments.
Preferred
- Experience with NTC (Nederlandse Taal en Cultuur).
- Early Years or international teaching experience.
- Experience in organizing language clubs or cultural events.
- Flexibility to support students in the Senior School when appropriate.
