The Opportunity:

As the Head of KS2 Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic success of students in Key Stage 2. This is a leadership position that requires a deep understanding of the British curriculum and a commitment to delivering excellence in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the development of Key Stage 2 curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all students including those with special educational needs and EAL learners.
  • Oversee the creation and review of schemes of work, ensuring alignment with the school's improvement plan and self-evaluation form.
  • Implement and monitor policies for assessing, recording, and reporting student achievement.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, equal opportunities policies, and the school's dress code and computer acceptable use policy.
  • Participate in annual training related to child protection, safeguarding, and health and safety.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the school's strategic goals and targets.
  • Support the Principal in performance management processes, including setting challenging annual targets for staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in the related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification.
  • Minimum of 6 years teaching experience in the English National Curriculum.
  • Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
  • Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or senior teaching role.
  • Strong understanding of British curriculum standards and assessment practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a teaching team.
