The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and experienced Primary Teacher - SEN to join a dedicated team that supports children with a wide range of additional needs. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact through personalized, hands-on teaching and a supportive, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, inclusive lessons tailored to the unique needs of students.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to education.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to support student progress.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and self-expression.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and colleagues.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives such as Forest School, Art, Music, and Cookery programs.
  • Support the school’s philosophy of hands-on, multisensory learning and student-led discovery.
  • Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all students, in line with safeguarding policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified and experienced Primary Teacher with a focus on Special Educational Needs.
  • Proven ability to create engaging, inclusive lesson plans.
  • Strong understanding of child development and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Experience working with children with a range of additional needs.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience with multisensory and practical learning approaches.
  • Familiarity with Forest School or outdoor learning programs.
  • Background in working with therapeutic support teams (OT, SALT, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic, supportive environment.
