The Opportunity:

As a Products and Services Director, you will lead the strategic direction of qualifications and services, ensuring they remain competitive, innovative, and aligned with the evolving needs of students, teachers, and institutions. This is a senior leadership role with a significant impact on the future of UK education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the long-term product and services strategy for the school, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and market trends.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the qualifications portfolio, including GCSEs, A Levels, and vocational qualifications.
  • Set a vision for the use of technology and AI in products and services, embedding innovation across the organisation.
  • Oversee the product lifecycle, making evidence-based investment decisions and prioritising initiatives that deliver value.
  • Champion high standards in qualifications, services, and digital offerings, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.
  • Strengthen functional excellence by improving processes, data quality, and operating discipline within the directorate.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with schools, colleges, regulators, and other stakeholders.
  • Inspire and develop leaders, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience at a senior level, with the ability to guide and inspire large teams.
  • Strong strategic judgment and the ability to navigate complex environments, including policy change and digital disruption.
  • Deep understanding of educational qualifications, assessment, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in product strategy, portfolio management, and investment decision-making.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience in budget accountability and generating return on investment.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and change, with resilience and adaptability.

  • Experience in the education or assessment sector.
  • Insight into customer behaviour and market dynamics.
