The Opportunity:

As a Psychology Teacher, you will deliver engaging and innovative lessons to Years 12 and 13 students, helping them achieve their full potential and prepare for university and other post-18 pathways. You will also contribute to the pastoral care of students through a form tutor role and support the school’s vibrant co-curricular program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver high-quality, engaging Psychology lessons to Years 12 and 13 students
  • Support students in their applications to Psychology-related university courses and other post-18 routes
  • Act as a form tutor, providing pastoral care and guidance to a group of students
  • Contribute to the co-curricular life of the school through active involvement in events and activities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and enhance the academic standards of the Psychology department
  • Participate in professional development and continuing teacher training initiatives
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students in line with safeguarding policies
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their goals

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Psychology
  • Proven experience in teaching Psychology at A-level or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
  • Ability to develop and deliver creative and engaging lessons
  • Experience in pastoral care or form tutoring

Preferred

  • Experience in working within an independent school setting
  • Familiarity with the UK A-level curriculum
  • Experience with student mentorship or academic guidance
  • Leadership experience within a teaching team
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
